If you want to explore marine life under water but don’t want to dive in deep, then sea walking provides you best experience under the sea without compromising the mesmerising view of diverse underwater creatures. There is no need to know swimming before doing this activity. It is pretty much a walk in the bottom of the sea. You will wear a protective helmet that will provide you sufficient oxygen while you are under water so that you can explore the underwater world in a safest manner. The wonderful coral reefs and colourful marine life of Andaman and Nicobar islands makes sea walking the best experience of your tour. Read the safety guidelines or instructions provided by your instructor carefully

Do Know the Basic Signals for underwater communication which must include “OK” and “I want to go back to the dive platform” (use of illustrated cards for these signals is recommended)

Keep minimum distance of 1 to 5 meters from any corals reef

Find out safe area for sea walk from tourist information centre, local tour operators and forest department

Dont's

Do not touch the reefs or marine life. Also don’t take anything as a souvenir

Make sure you don’t move anything just because you want the perfect picture. Even a light touch can make corals prone to infections

Do not dive / sea walk / snorkel under the influence of alcohol

Do not carry out any activities once a cyclone warning is in force or any adverse conditions exist

Sea walking Faqs

Sea walk is a fairly new tourist attraction which is growing in popularity. The process is simple- a large glass dome is placed on your head and as you descend to the sea bed air is fed via a tube.

The activity shall be carried out in a maximum of 7 mts depth as measured at high tide and in calm waters.
Yes, person of less than 7 years shall not be allowed to undertake the activity. A child between 7 years and 15 years shall be accompanied by an adult during the underwater trail.
It is always advisable to consult with a doctor before you head out for sea walk. Proper health conditions are required for sea walk. Any person suffering from Asthma, Heart disease or extreme back problem should avoid this activity.
During your sea walking, you will definitely take a lot of pictures for memories and the capture the vivid sea life. All your pictures will be provided to you in a CD.
The maximum duration for the Sea walk activity shall be 15/20 minutes and the tour shall take place within the allotted trail/space.
