About Sea Walking
If you want to explore marine life under water but don’t want to dive in deep, then sea walking provides you best experience under the sea without compromising the mesmerising view of diverse underwater creatures. There is no need to know swimming before doing this activity. It is pretty much a walk in the bottom of the sea. You will wear a protective helmet that will provide you sufficient oxygen while you are under water so that you can explore the underwater world in a safest manner. The wonderful coral reefs and colourful marine life of Andaman and Nicobar islands makes sea walking the best experience of your tour. Sea walking at Andaman and Nicobar Islands can be done at, North Bay and Havelock. Sea walking in Andaman will be an experience you never want to miss.
Do's & Dont's
Read the safety guidelines or instructions provided by your instructor carefully
Do Know the Basic Signals for underwater communication which must include “OK” and “I want to go back to the dive platform” (use of illustrated cards for these signals is recommended)
Keep minimum distance of 1 to 5 meters from any corals reef
Find out safe area for sea walk from tourist information centre, local tour operators and forest department
Do not touch the reefs or marine life. Also don’t take anything as a souvenir
Make sure you don’t move anything just because you want the perfect picture. Even a light touch can make corals prone to infections
Do not dive / sea walk / snorkel under the influence of alcohol
Do not carry out any activities once a cyclone warning is in force or any adverse conditions exist
